Aretha Franklin “Every girl wants my guy”

May 9, 2017 | Music

Aretha Franklin, the 75 year old Queen of soul, announced early February that she would release her new and last album before the end of the year.  In collaboration with Stevie Wonder, this album will be a mix of both Franklin’s old and new sounds and will sign the end of her immense career.

Winner of 18 Grammy Awards, Aretha Franklin became the first female artist to be inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame and Museum, an institution in Ohio which archives the most important moments in the history of music.

“I feel very, very enriched and satisfied with respect to where my career came from and where it is now,” Franklin said.

In the mean time, before listening to her new album, we selected this amazing song from her 1983 Get it Right album, Every Girl Wants my Guy. Produced by Luther Vandross, Get It Right is Aretha’s thirty-second album. So it is safe to say that there is more than enough time to listen to all of her legacy. We’ll let you start with this first song…

Her voice, declared ‘natural resource’ by the state of Michigan, will transport you.
